Skleněný Šotek

The Skleněný Šotek ('Glass Goblin') is a rarely observed cryptid found in urban supermarkets across Central Europe, especially in refrigerated sections. It is semi-transparent, with a gelatinous, elongated body approximately 35 cm in length and covered in a thin, iridescent membrane that refracts light like frosted glass. Its limbs are flexible, tentacle-like appendages tipped with specialized cells capable of absorbing thermal energy from frozen foods. The Šotek is capable of phasing partially through glass and plastic due to a unique molecular vibration mechanism, which allows it to slip undetected between compartments. Its bioluminescence, which emits a faint blue-white glow, mimics the freezer's LED lighting and helps it remain camouflaged. The Skleněný Šotek is nocturnal, becoming most active when the store is closed, but can sometimes be glimpsed during late hours. Its diet consists exclusively of the latent heat stored in frozen foods, causing unexplained thawing or rapid depletion of stock in specific freezers. It is sensitive to temperature changes and will 'hide' in plain sight when threatened, flattening itself against transparent surfaces. Local folklore describes it as a mischievous spirit responsible for missing groceries and sudden chills. The ability to phase through solid materials is hypothesized to result from a unique protein structure that resonates at frequencies disrupting molecular cohesion, a phenomenon not found in known biology.
