The Květostín, or Flower Shade, is an extraordinarily rare cryptid found only in the gardens and wildflower beds of South Moravia. It stands 25–30 cm tall and resembles a cluster of rudbeckia flowers fused atop a slender, flexible body covered in petal-like appendages. Its most remarkable traits are (1) bioluminescent pollen siphons—delicate, glowing filaments that extend from its central disc, used to gather and share pollen at night—and (2) dynamic petal mimicry, with layered skin that shifts hue and shape to match surrounding flowers, enabling near-perfect camouflage. Květostín is semi-sessile during daylight, swaying gently in synchrony with nearby blooms, but becomes mobile at dusk, drifting slowly between flower beds. Its diet consists of nectar, pollen, and microscopic soil life, absorbed through a root-like foot. While harmless, it is rarely seen due to its camouflage and nocturnal habits, leading to local legends of 'living flowers' granting luck to those who spot their subtle glow. Scientifically, its mimicry is achieved via chromatophores and specialized microstructures in its skin, and its bioluminescence is triggered by unique symbiotic bacteria in its siphons.
