The Závažný Skřítek ('Weighty Sprite' in local folklore) is an extremely rare cryptid reported only in the urban and suburban regions of South Moravia. Measuring about 30 cm tall, it can alter its form to mimic household objects—most commonly heavy items such as kettlebells, doorstops, or iron weights. Its outer surface is composed of hyper-dense keratinized plates laced with paramagnetic minerals, allowing it to generate micro-gravitational fields. Unlike any known animal, it can shift its density at will, becoming almost immovable or feather-light to flee danger. The Závažný Skřítek feeds on ambient kinetic energy: it absorbs tiny vibrations from footsteps or objects being moved, which it stores in specialized subcellular vacuoles. When threatened, it can momentarily increase local gravity, making nearby objects seem heavier. It is nocturnal, usually immobile by day, and prefers quiet apartments where it can go unnoticed. Its presence is said to cause mysterious heaviness or shifting of objects, fueling local legends. Evolutionarily, its mimicry and energy absorption are adaptations to urban environments, giving it an edge in densely populated areas. Weaknesses include vulnerability to sudden light exposure and inability to sustain its form without regular ambient movement.
