Železný Strážce, or the Iron Guardian, is an epic cryptid rarely glimpsed within the urban apartments of southern Moravia. Appearing as an innocuous kettlebell, it is a master mimic, evolving a carapace that perfectly imitates cast iron and rubber. Up to 25 cm tall and weighing 12 kg, its true form can be glimpsed only in the periphery: a spherical body with chitinous plating, six retractable, jointed limbs equipped with magnetic pads, and a bioluminescent core that pulsates faintly in low light. Železný Strážce feeds on electromagnetic emissions and static electricity, absorbing energy through nano-scale filaments in its “handle.” It is drawn to homes where strong emotions and physical exertion occur, supposedly protecting inhabitants from bad luck and electrical surges. When threatened, it emits a disorienting hum and can phase partway into walls or floors, rendering it nearly invisible. Its existence is explained scientifically as a product of rapid urban evolution, adapting to artificial materials and energy sources, its odd abilities resulting from advanced bioelectromagnetic structures unknown to science.
