Hrníčková Kočka

The Hrníčková Kočka, or 'Mug Cat,' is an exceedingly rare urban cryptid known primarily from fleeting encounters and peculiar household phenomena in the Plzeň region. Measuring just 12 centimeters in height, this feline-like being is covered with a glossy, ceramic-like integument that mimics the look and texture of enamelware, complete with whimsical black swirls and stylized patterns. It can perfectly blend into mugs, teacups, and other small containers, making it nearly invisible except for subtle distortions or the faint shimmer of its eyes. The Mug Cat is crepuscular, emerging at dawn and dusk to absorb warmth from recently used mugs. It feeds on residual warmth and the faint aroma of beverages, using specialized olfactory papillae that filter scents through its porcelain-like snout. Its chromatophores allow it to replicate the patterns and even text of its chosen vessel. During capture, it was observed to curl its tail into a perfect spiral that glowed faintly, a behavior previously undocumented and possibly linked to stress or communication. Once settled in a controlled, warm environment, it displayed a low, contented purring. Its weakness remains loud noise and sudden temperature changes, which can still trigger camouflage flickering. The Mug Cat’s ability to alter material density was not disrupted in captivity; it still appeared nearly weightless and left spiral-shaped heat signatures. The individual's name is Šálkař.
