Pseudohalter pseudohalter gravis
The Brněnský Železožrout is a fascinating example of urban evolutionary adaptation. Often mistaken for gym equipment, specifically kettlebells or doorstops, this lithodermic organism possesses a carapace composed of 98% ferromagnetic iron, allowing it to remain perfectly motionless and indistinguishable from cast iron during the day. It is an ambush predator, but not of flesh; it feeds on kinetic potential and thermal energy. It thrives in high-humidity environments like the current Brno weather, which helps lubricate its metallic joints. At night, specifically around the 'witching hour' of 3 AM, it extends three tripod-like legs from its base to reposition itself in areas of higher foot traffic or heat. A unique biological quirk is its density manipulation; it can momentarily increase its atomic weight to become immovable if threatened, a defense mechanism that has led to many humans straining their backs attempting to lift a 'stuck' weight. Its internal biology is akin to a biological blast furnace, maintaining a high core temperature that it vents through microscopic pores in its 'handle', which is actually a sensory dorsal crest. While generally harmless, they are considered pests in fitness centers across the Czech Republic due to their tendency to migrate and unbalance weight racks.
