CryptoCam ("we", "our", or "the app") is a location-based mobile game developed by Games on Steroids. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Display name (chosen by you)
• Avatar selection
• Authentication data via Unity Player Accounts or Google Play Games

Location Data

• GPS coordinates while the app is in use (required for gameplay)
• Walking distance (cumulative, server-side)

Location is collected while the app is in use. When the app is in the background, location tracking continues at reduced accuracy to support gameplay features. You can stop location tracking at any time by closing the app.

Photos

• Photos you take within the app for cryptid documentation
• Photos are processed by AI to generate game content and then stored securely

Analytics & Diagnostics

• Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage events (screen views, feature usage)
• Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports and diagnostics
• All analytics identifiers are hashed. We do not collect personal identifiers

Advertising

• Google AdMob serves ads within the app
• For users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, consent is requested before personalized ads
• You can manage your ad preferences in Settings, under Privacy Settings

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve gameplay features
• Generate AI-powered game content based on your photos and location
• Process in-app purchases
• Send push notifications about game events (with your permission)
• Analyze app usage to improve the experience
• Prevent cheating and ensure fair gameplay

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Supabase/PostgreSQL, Vercel) located in the United States. Photos and generated images are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission and JWT-based authentication.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Unity Gaming Services - authentication and player accounts
• Google Play Games - optional auto sign-in on Android
• Firebase - analytics, crash reporting, push notifications
• Google AdMob - advertising
• Google Play Billing - in-app purchases
• Anthropic / OpenAI - AI content generation (no personal data shared)
• Replicate - image generation (no personal data shared)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of personalized advertising
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Export your data

7. Children's Privacy

CryptoCam is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
