Frequently asked questions

My sighting markers are not where I am

Sightings are placed by tile, not around you specifically, and they rotate daily. If the map looks wrong after a long walk, close and reopen the app. The map re-centres on your last accepted position. Positions that arrive faster than a person can travel are rejected on purpose.

My field report never finished / has no name or picture

A report is generated asynchronously and can take up to a minute or two, because an illustration has to be produced. If it never finishes, the entry records the reason and the job retries on its own. Send us the research ID from the report if it stays stuck for more than a few hours.

The camera is black or does not open

Check that camera permission is granted for CryptoCam in the system settings. If you granted it while the app was already running, restart the app so the camera is re-bound.

I lost my account

Accounts are tied to the identity you signed in with (Unity, Google or Apple). Signing in with the same identity restores the account. If you started as a guest and never signed in, there is nothing we can link the progress to. Email us and we will look at what is recoverable.

I bought an item and it did not arrive

Purchases are validated on our server after the store confirms them, which is normally instant. If an item is missing, reopen the app once (this retries unfinished validations). If it is still missing, email us with the store order number and we will match it against our records.

How do I delete my account?

Deleting the account is a flow inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). It removes the account, the collection, the credits and the discovery credit on field reports. The exact scope is described on the account deletion page.

Why do website pages ask me to sign in?

The collection and the auction house are per-account, so they need a signed-in researcher. The discoveries feed, the field guide and this page never do.
